How to calculate mentally the price of small amount of a comodity in market
We often go to market and buy many things. When we buy small amount of loose commodity (i.e. without package) e.g. Fish, vegetable etc. , we are to calculate price in short time. Some people can't easily calculate the price, even some are get confused. In this article, we learn how to calculate the price of small quantity of unpacked food items or other commodity.
What I shall teach you, is not a different thing but is mathematics. Basically, I tell you a easy, handy approach, so that you can use that in market. First, I tell you the rule and then I explain the rule with few example.
Rule:
If we know the price of 1kg,
Price of 100g=(Price of 1kg/10)
i.e. Put decimal point after 1 digit from right side.
Price of 10g=(Price of 1kg/100)
i.e. Put decimal point after 2 digit from right side.
Price of 1g=(Price of 1kg/1000)
i.e. Put decimal point after 3 digit from right side.
If the Price of 1kg of a thing is 160.
Then,
Price of 100g=16.0
Price of 10g =1.60
Price of 1g=0.160
Example:
So far, we have understood, what is the rule. Now, the main thing is, how to apply it. Ok, let's take few examples.
In entire example, we are taking the Price of 1kg of a thing is 160.
Price of 200g
Price of 100g=16.0=16
Therefore, Price of 200g=2*16=32
Price of 230g
Price of 100g=16.0=16
Therefore, Price of 200g=2*16=32
Price of 10g=1.60=1.6
So, Price of 30g=3*1.6=4.8
So, Price of 230g= 32+4.8=36.8
Price of 324g
Price of 100g=16.0=16
So, Price of 300g= 3916=48
Price of 10g=1.60=1.6
So, Price of 20g= 2*1.6=3.2
Price of 1g=0.160=0.16
So, Price of 4g=4*0.16=0.64
Therefore, Price of 324g= 48+3.2+0.64=51.84
So far, we have learnt the process of calculating the price of small quantity given in gram, if we know the price of 1kg.
Now, some people may be clueless if the calculation is to be done in liter. Don't worry. I am giving an example, so that, they can understand.
If, the Price of 1 Liter is 165 .
Price of 100ml = 16.5
Price of 10ml= 1.65
Price of 1ml = 0.165
Here, ml means Mili Liter.
